Victoria Altmann-Wendling draws a detailed picture of the nature and effect of the celestial body personified as a god. This comprehensive analysis is based on all relevant religious inscriptions and representations relating to the Moon. These centrally include texts and iconographic evidence of the Graeco-Roman temples, which provide the most extensive information about the Moon in Ancient Egypt.
