I now reside in Bronx New York. I went to elementary school P.S. 137, Junior High School JHS 60. The high school I attended was High School Clara Barton, High School Brooklyn New York. I was a special education student from 2nd -10th grade. I have 3 beautiful children and I've worked as a home health aide for 17 years. I'm also a minister. At the age of 7 years old I discovered I could not read or write when the teacher called on me one day and asked me to read in front of the class. I couldn't and it was the most embarrassing moment to me. For years and years I kept it a secret from friends and family. As my kids grew older they began realizing that I could not read or write. My children said to me, ""Mom if you need help I'm here to help you."" I was inspired by them to write this book. I wanted to help other people like myself. I know there are people like me: adults, children, and elderly people that cannot read and write. It is a very difficult thing to go through life not knowing how to read. It is a struggle every day in someone's life. My heart goes out to those people and I want to help the world by bringing awareness and to not only show how difficult it can be for a person who can't read and write, but also to show that it can be done, with help. I want people to know how much I care and how much I want to help them overcome. You just have to believe that you can do anything that you put your mind to and won't let anything get in your way of reaching your goal. My goal is to start a support group for children and adults who struggle with reading. That is my story, amen." Tab Content 6Author Website:Countries AvailableAll regions |
