Mommy...Move The Sun is about overcoming struggles that range from terrifying to humorous, as Jeanie Gould and her family raise their severely disabled daughter, while learning many life lessons along the way. Experiencing Fear, pain, then amazing joy, the Goulds embark on their journey, raising the child that doctors said should die. Written with tears, laughter, and true stubborn grit, this is a love story about their daughter, Nikki, now age 27. The doctors were right about one thing, Nikki does have tuberous sclerosis, a rare disease. However, she has a lot more! She has a family who loves her, a huge circle of friends that adore her, a happy heart, contagious giggles, a great sense of humor, and generous hugs and kisses. She has been our life teacher. We have learned to never let anyone take hope away from us, to never give up, and to never take no for an answer. This story can help other families get through the challenges of raising a handicapped child, even after entering the dark tunnel of shattered expectations. Author Information

Jeanie Gould is the author of a memoir about her family's experience raising a severely handicapped child. Her book, Mommy... Move the Sun offers hope for other families experiencing the challenges of raising a handicapped child, reminding them they are not alone as they struggle with doctors, government agencies, frustration and guilt. She began her 25 + year marketing career in the book publishing division of Bon Appetit and Architectural Digest magazines. Following that, she entered the hospitality industry and worked in marketing and public relations for a 5-star resort. Currently, she is in management in the non-profit sector.
