Inside Voice Children Books are fundamental books for toddlers and children published by ABAA Staley Publishing. Our books are designed to support smoother transitions from concrete to abstract thinking abilities in children. During the formal operational stages of cognitive development, children use sensory information from their environment to learn new skills. Inside Voice Children Books has launch the Sixth Sense Series of 12 books, that emphasize the sensory skills of seeing, hearing, tasting, feeling and smelling as they relate to the mental perception. These books are designed to help promote the transition from concrete to abstract thinking during the cognitive stages of development. Also, the Sixth Sense Series will help toddlers and children learn the different parts of the body. Also, build relationships with family members through environmental awareness and interactive applications of each story. Finally, generations of children will learn to read using the Sixth Sense Series, and many will cherish the memory of reading and or listening to the simple and intriguing stories. Author Information
Bretta Staley, M.Ed Bretta Staley is a native of Orangeburg, South Carolina. She received her early academic training in the public schools of Orangeburg County and graduated from Edisto High School. She completed the requirements for a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art Education from Claflin University in 1977. She also did further studies at South Carolina State University, Limestone University, and the University of South Carolina in the areas of Art Education, Educational Research, Visual Communications and Computer Science. She received her Masters of Education in Divergent Learning from Columbia College, with an emphasis in Art. Currently, she is an active artist and author. She has taught in the public schools of Greenville, Florence, Colleton, Calhoun County, and Orangeburg County. She served as Fine Arts Coordinator of the Claflin College Upward Bound Summer Program for several years. She also serves as a visual arts coordinator/teacher for the Orangeburg-Calhoun Consortium for the Arts in Orangeburg, South Carolina.
