Overview

Die molekulare Identifizierung und Sequenzierung des 18S-rRNA-Gens wurde anhand der gesammelten Schwämme durchgeführt. Die BLAST-Ergebnisse zeigten die vorliegende Sequenz von Clathria reinwardti 18S-rRNA mit einem Score von 1770 und einer Identität von 92 % mit der Familie Microcionidae; 90 % identisch mit Mycale fibrexilis. Daher wiesen die Meeresschwämme aus Rameshwaram (Südostküste Indiens) eine Abweichung von 4 % (Probe 1) und 3 % (Probe 2) von Clathria reinwardti (Vosmaer, 1880) auf.
