Overview

Presented here are recent achievements in the molecular biology of non-pathogenic yeast and filamentous fungi as well as human pathogens. The book is divided into four sections: molecular biology of yeast; molecular biology of filamentous fungi; new tools and prospectives for medical mycology; and fungal morphogenesis. It focuses on aspects of medical mycology; namely the isolation of specific genes and strategies for developing new targets for antifungal therapy.
