OverviewWritten in a stream-of-consciousness technique and embedded in dream allegory, Moirae depicts human predicament exploring notions of fate and religion. Taken from a fantasy land on a planet with two moons, called the Lost Winds, this story is about human oppression under a tyrannical regime which calls itself democratic. Much like our planet earth, people flee to seek protection in a place called Draviland, a long way away from the Lost Winds. Dramas pertaining to such human conditions often appear in the main character's lucid dreams and knitted in pink honeycomb pattern. This metaphor is used to construe self-organized behaviour among men, herding as they try to escape from persecution. Her best themes are relationships, exploitation of the less fortunate and religious intolerance that divide humanity as a united force; issues that disturb her vastly. She believes in poetic justice, and hopes for that day, perhaps not in her lifetime, when it may be achieved. Raised by two voracious readers, her mum and dad, Mehreen grew up in a cultured family in Dhaka Bangladesh in a house full of books, where appreciation of both eastern as well as western literature prevailed. This is where she learnt about poetry and sensitivity. Tab Content 6Author Website:Countries AvailableAll regions |
