He received his PhD in Chemical Engineering from East China University of Science and Technology in 2001. He then completed his postdoctoral work at the School of Life Science and Technology, Shanghai Jiaotong University, focusing on biomaterials and nanotechnology. In 2004, he joined the School of Life Science and Technology at Tongji University. In 2007, he was awarded the China Education Ministry’s “New Century Excellent Talents Supporting Plan.” In 2008, he became Professor and PhD supervisor. He is currently a principal investigator at the School of Life Science and Technology and the Frontier Science Center for Stem Cell Research, Tongji University, China. His primary research area is nanobiomedicine, with a current focus on cancer therapy using synthetic and natural biomaterials, as well as cells and bacteria. His recent work has been published in international journals such as Small, Biomaterials, Acta Biomaterialia, and Nano Research.
