Overview

The inspiration for this book comes from the Lord as a calling. It is my belief that we are put on this earth for the purpose of worshiping the Lord, and that the Lord does not rule our lives, but, rather allows us to make our own decisions about whether we will believe in God, about whether we will believe in Jesus, how we will treat others, etc. I just don't believe that he intervenes in most cases. In some cases however, when the Lord calls someone, it is an offer that one cannot refuse, and sometimes it is a person being called that most righteous people would not expect to be called. The Lord uses us to serve his purposes sometimes, and not just leads us to do so, but, sometimes forces us to do so. I like to think about some of the people he has used. Moses for instance was raised by the pharaoh's family and was not prone to doing the job he did. Noah. Jonas. We can go on. More often than not though, the people who are called upon are not, and never will be famous. We are given a job to do, and it may be very small, but, it is our job. One of my favorite hymns is Go Tell it on the Mountain. I like the part where He made me a watchman upon the city wall, and if I am a Christian, I am the least of all. I have always been a Christian, but, I have always been a sinner too, and when I think about it, I often wonder why the Lord would have chosen me to accomplish his goal that I was assigned. And since have been assigned more. This writing is an assignment I have been putting off for a few years, but, I have had some serious warnings to get on the ball.
