Author Information
Rev. Dr. William Q. James is a native of Chicago, Illinois and is now residing in a neighboring suburb. He received his early education in the Chicago Public School System. He furthered his education at Robert Morris College in Chicago, Illinois where he earned a Professional Diploma in Graphic Art. Being gifted as an astute learner as well as an accomplished musician who plays the organ, piano, and drums, Dr. James attended American Music World School of Music where he studied Music Theory and Composition. In the fall of 2003 under the leadership of Pastor Dr. Franklin D. Morris Sr., Dr. James acknowledged his call to the gospel ministry. After being licensed in 2005 by Pastor Morris and ordained in 2007 under the leadership of Dr. Russell B. Harris Sr., Dr. James had a burning desire to expand his knowledge and understanding of the word of God. He attended the Andersonville Theological Seminary where he earned a Bachelor of Theology Degree, a Masters of Biblical Counseling degree in Pastoral Care and a Doctorate of Ministry degree in Pastoral Leadership. Dr. James serves as the Assistant Pastor of the New Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. Franklin D. Morris Sr. There he serves as the Director of Christian Education and Media Operations. Dr. James is an active member of The Emmanuel Baptist District of Chicago and Vicinity, The United Baptist State Convention of Illinois and the National Baptist Convention USA Inc. where he is a certified instructor through the Sunday School Publishing Board. As it is written, when a man finds a wife he finds a good thing and obtains favor with Lord. Dr. James is married to the former Janeen M. Morris, and they are the proud parents of two beautiful children, Kimberley, and Donavon. Dr. James' future goal and prayer are to one day become a professor at a local seminary or university where he can teach the word of God within the walls that disciples will reach beyond the walls to Counsel the confused, Console the convicted, and Care for those who are in crisis.
