He graduated from Kanagawa Dental College and holds a DDS degree in dental medicine. He received Postgraduate Training and Fellowship Appointments and successively Faculty Appointments of Associate and Assistant Professor at the Department of Pharmacology, Medical School, University of Pennsylvania, in Philadelphia, USA.
