Moctezuma's Revenge: Eight Navajos and a Teacher Explore the Mysteries of Ancient Aztlán (hardcover)

Overview

What kind of fool would plan a trip through the whole of Mexico with eight Navajos, seven still in high school, in 1975? That individual would have to be certifiably out of his mind, of course. But still, that individual being me, as their teacher, considered it the opportunity of a lifetime. This story will take you through the trials and tribulations of being an outsider to a tribal group of students, who knew next to nothing of the world outside their own small reservation. Together, with their teacher, they traversed the uniquely historic and culturally diverse nation we call Mexico. In an episodic adventure many of us couldn't even imagine, this motley crew of individuals somehow survived all adversity, including some of their own manufacture. This is their story and mine for all intents and purposes and also of the Emperor Moctezuma.
