Mix It Up: Popular Culture, Mass Media, and Society (Third Edition)

Overview

Mix It Up demonstrates how a sociological perspective can help us better understand popular culture as a dynamic and durable-and ultimately significant-feature of modern society. With lively prose, the perfect mix of resonant historical cases, and relevant contemporary examples, David Grazian investigates the role of media and popular culture in everyday life. In the Third Edition, Grazian applies sociological ideas and theories to today's biggest pop culture trends, including the rise of the influencer economy, the canonization of rap music, and the further consolidation of the media industries.
