Overview

Martine Le Coz is a French writer, painter and long an admirer of Mithila art, a traditional women's art form in north India. Her recent accolade to these artists, Mithila, L'Honneur des Femmes, is here continued with forty two finely executed paintings based on the Indian Devanagari script. The paintings pay homage to the art style of Mithila with each letter a starting point around which Le Coz constructs an image of some aspect of Indian life and art.
