Overview

Soldiers lost in time, 152 light-years from home, with a daunting task for survival -- Taken from their planet and their century, they are not just the Lost Soldiers: they are Murphy's Lawless. Major Rodger Y. Murphy should have died when his helicopter crashed off the coast of Mogadishu in 1993. Instead, he woke up in 2125, 152 light-years from home. Murphy and 100 other ""Lost Soldiers"" have been retrieved and awakened by two officers of the Consolidated Terran Republic: Trevor Corcoran and Richard Downing. Promising to return, Corcoran and Downing leave the twentieth-century castaways with a daunting objective: establish a base of operations on the main world of R'Bak using local allies they have yet to recruit and enemy equipment they have yet to seize. They haven't been back yet. But the company of misfits and ne'er-do-wells who have taken the nickname Murphy's Lawless rise to the challenge!

Author Information

Dr. Charles E. Gannon is a distinguished professor of English at St. Bonaventure University and was a Fulbright senior specialist in American literature and culture from 2004 to 2009. He also works as a novelist and game designer, primarily focused on science fiction and role playing games. Griffin Barber spent his youth in four different countries, learning three languages while holding down jobs in marinas, bars, cafés, and, memorably, cold-calling casino guests. Finally settled in Northern California with a day job as a police officer in a major metropolitan department, he lives the good life with his wife and daughter. 1636: Mission to the Mughals, coauthored with Eric Flint, was his first novel; he has also written numerous short stories. Second Chance Angel is what he hopes to be the first of many collaborations with Kacey Ezell. A bestselling science fiction/fantasy author, speaker, and publisher, Chris Kennedy is a former naval aviator and elementary school principal. Chris's books include the Theogony and Codex Regius science fiction trilogies and stories in the Four Horsemen military science fiction series. Chris is the author of the award-winning #1 bestseller, Self-Publishing for Profit: How to Get Your Book Out of Your Head and Into the Stores. Called ""fantastic"" and ""a great speaker,"" he has coached hundreds of beginning authors and budding novelists on how to self-publish their stories at a variety of conferences, conventions, and writing guild presentations, and he has published six authors under various imprints of his Chris Kennedy Publishing small press. Chris lives in Virginia Beach, Virginia, where he manages the curriculum for sailors learning to maintain the Navy's F-18 Hornet. He is the holder of a doctorate in educational leadership and master's degrees in both business and public administration. Mike Massa has lived an adventurous life including stints as a university researcher, a tech entrepreneur, an investment banker and a US Navy officer. In addition to the military deployments, he has lived outside the US for several years as a civilian, mostly in South America and Europe. Mike is married and enjoys the challenges of three sons and a growing cohort of grandsons all of whom check daily to see if today is the day they can pull down the old lion. Read by Kevin Pariseau, Mark Boyett, L. J. Ganser, Angelo Di Loreto, Vivienne Leheny, Marc Vietor, Gabriel Sloyer, Oliver Wyman, Michael David Axtell, Stephen Bel Davies, and Holter Graham
