This was truly a delightful, whimsical and inspirational book. You had me at the title. I believe this book should be a must-read for all new teachers K-8. Dr. Lynne Kennedy, PhD. Superintendent (Retired) Future teachers are required to take classes on educational theory, research, and pedagogy, technology, classroom management, and specific curricular areas, but all of these classes cannot truly prepare an individual for what it is actually like to teach...to be in charge of children's lives and education...to develop relationships that have lasting impacts on students' lives. No class can teach one to have a sense of humor, to have patience, or to develop lasting, impactful relationships through listening, modeling, and connecting.
