Author Information

Raised in a very artistic home, Alicia Young was surrounded by constant creativity. She received her BFA degree in Painting from Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts in Connecticut in 2009. Since then, Alicia has enjoyed illustrating children's books, painting murals, and sharing the joy of art everywhere she goes. Her beautiful illustrations graced the pages of Miracle of Little Tree and now bring to life its accompanying interactive workbook. She invites kinds and adults alike to learn and grow as they go through these fun pages that make Little Tree's journey really come to life! Let's all be brave, strong, and calm together, friends! After a life-long professional life as a teacher, instructional coach, and testing coordinator, Linda moved from Texas to New York to be granny nanny to her first grandchild. Noticing the need to answer inquisitive questions about the tragedy of 9/11, she wrote the book, Miracle of Little Tree. Realizing children learn by doing, she has now created this interactive workbook to expand children's learning experience based on that book. She hopes through the creative activities and illustrations by noted artist, Alicia Young, children will learn more fascinating facts about the 9/11 Survivor Tree, as well as concepts from science, social studies, and language arts.
