Author Information

"The author is James Lewis Connor or Jim Connor, as he prefers to be called. He lives in Lincoln, Nebraska with his wife. Jim is 78 years of age and maintains his health through meditation, exercise, and diet. Jim walks 10-18 miles two times a week. This regimen eliminates many medications.Jim first had a career in Biological Psychology, Learning and Motivation. First, Behavioral Geneticists at the University of Minnesota trained Jim as undergraduate (B.A. 1966). Next, Psychologists at the University of Pennsylvania trained Jim in Psychobiology (Ph.D. 1971). Thereafter, he served as a tenured faculty member doing research and teaching at the University of Nebraska -Lincoln (UNL) until 1980. Jim taught and researched approximately 8 years at UNL.Next Jim trained as a physician and received a M.D. degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 1984. In 1996 the American Board of Pathology certified Jim as a Pathologist in 1996. His medical education and practice totaled approximately 27 years. Jim was a General Practitioner and subsequently a Pathologist. Jim retired in 2007. Jim's Mother Harriet and Grandmother Bertha raised him as a Methodist. Jim's father belonged to no religion and experienced God through walks in the woods. Jim was a Methodist Christian in High School, an Agnostic in college, graduate school and during his employment at the University of Nebraska- Lincoln- a period of approximately 16 years. He then became an Episcopalian for approximately 20 years. His meditative exercises produced a Transcendent Epiphany. God strongly urged him to ""PREACH AGAINST WAR!"", an experience which left Jim quaking with fear and awe. Accordingly, Jim joined the Quakers., and facilitated weekend workshops in the Alternatives to Violence Project (AVP). Jim has been a Quaker for approximately 15 years."
