OverviewMinimally invasive aortic valve surgery is a relatively new field which cardiac surgeons are increasingly embracing, and patients and cardiologists are demanding this with more enthusiasm. This is a current subject of great interest with contemporary results already present and more are awaited. This book describes the process through the set-up of a minimally invasive aortic valve surgery program, pertinent investigations, patient selection, different approaches (including endoscopic and robotic), cardio-pulmonary bypass, re-operations and their application with rapid deployment and aortic vascular surgery. This book is intended for all training cardiac surgeons and cardiologists, consultant cardiac surgeons and cardiologists, anaesthetists, intensive care specialists and perfusionists. This is the first book authored exclusively on this subject. The three editors are leading authorities on this subject in the UK and are mentors for many surgical programs. Every chapter is authored by experts in this particular aspect of minimally invasive aortic valve surgery. These surgeons are mainly from the United States, Australia and Europe.
