Mimesis of a Nemesis: Canto 15 of Orpheus (B&W Edition)

Overview

The penultimate canto in book one of the art-poetry epic Orpheus. Orpheus discovers himself stuck in the mire of wrath, unable to progress in his journey. There he must free himself to follow his beloved into Hades or settle among the muck of rage. Every line of the poem is illustrated by the poet's artwork. All artwork is original to the canto. Kit Ludlow's Orpheus is an art-poetry epic that reimagines the mythological Orpheus. The poem takes place after his first journey into Hades and his murder at the hands of the Bacchae. The narrative focuses on his trek through the afterworld and back into the arms of his beloved.
