Miley Cyrus is the latest teen sensation, achieving success as a musical artist as well as a TV and movie superstar. This book provides an overview, offering numerous pictures, as well as a brief biography that includes Miley's likes and dislikes and explores her TV character Hannah Montana. Daughter of country singer Billy Ray Cyrus (best known for his hit Achy Breaky Heart ), Miley has become a superstar in her own right, co-starring with her father on The Disney Channel's Hannah Montana. As depicted in this book, Miley is an ordinary adolescent with a strong work ethic and a can-do attitude. Anderson attempts to make Miley relatable to the young girls who are her biggest fans. Often anecdotal, there is a lack of substance to this text. For example, Anderson writes that Miley has an allowance and unloads the dishwasher at home. This forces the relatability factor, and the book never fully explores how and why Miley became a star. Additionally, this text offers no substantial or original information concerning Miley Cyrus; all of it could be found on Miley's own website. In fact, some segments of the book are copied directly from that site. Furthermore, some interesting facts about the Hannah Montana show were omitted, such as that it was originally named Alexis Texas and that it is Disney's highest-rated television show to date. Therefore, I do not recommend this book. If Miley Cyrus's fans wish to learn more information about her and her show, I suggest they visit her website, which includes a plethora of information, photos, blogs, and a biography., Children's Literature
