Overview

This collection of short stories takes place during the events in books one through three. What was Mikey trying to tell Lee? Where did Carina go? What happened to the people in Payson? All these questions and more are answered in this collection of short stories. Preview Mikey shrugged as he looked down the hall at the far wall. It ended with a bookshelf. He stared for a moment, then remembered. It's a false wall. You pull on one of the books and a latch opens. Still confused as to where the person that had blocked him went, he walked over to the bookshelf. Now which one was it... He pulled on the book titled Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Nothing happened. ""This is getting stupid,"" he commented as he began pulling on books one after another, frustrated. He heard a click as he pulled on one with no title. He released it and it snapped back into place. The spine of the book began to glow. ""Now what?"" he asked as he watched the title appear. The Velvet Labyrinth. The floor suddenly dropped out from under him, and he fell into a glowing portal.

I was born in California but moved around growing up as a military brat. I joined the Navy at seventeen to learn electronics. My first ship was the Battleship New Jersey (BB-62). On my second ship, The USS Prairie (AD-15) I was deployed to the Persian Gulf for what was later called The First Gulf War. After that experience, I was assigned ""shore duty"" in San Diego. While working part-time at Domino's Pizza as a delivery driver to make extra money I was hit by a drunk driver, which ended my naval career. Don't fret though, if you keep a positive attitude things have a way of working out. I got an awesome job at Intel Corporation and moved up to the Bay area. Fast forward fifteen years and me, my ex-wife, and our kids moved to Arizona, where I worked several jobs including teaching computer certifications. Currently I am a Senior Network Engineer and enjoy my job. Recently I felt the need to fulfill a dream I've always had of writing, and, well, here we are!
