The contributions underscore the aspirational character of the Gulf as a place where migrant recognition can be attained while also reflecting on practices of exclusion. Antia Mato Bouzas is Lecturer in Politics and International Relations at London Metropolitan University and Associate Researcher at Leibniz-Zentrum Moderner Orient (ZMO), Berlin. She is the author of Kashmir as a Borderland: The politics of space and belonging across the Line of Control (Amsterdam University Press, 2019).
