His many books include Philip Johnson: Life and Work and, as coauthor, Chicago's Famous Buildings, the latter also published by the University of Chicago Press. Edward Windhorst studied architecture with Myron Goldsmith at the Illinois Institute of Technology. He has written two other books about modern architecture in Chicago.
