Table of ContentsReviewsAuthor InformationDr. R.Puvanakrishnan, the senior author, obtained his doctorate in enzyme technology from the University of Madras and an A.I.C. Diploma in leather chemistry from the Institution of Chemists (India), Calcutta. In addition, he underwent postdoctoral training in the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, Piscataway, NJ, USA. He is bestowed with many awards including the Tamilnadu Scientist Award. He has more than 100 publications, nine patents and three books to his credit. After his retirement as Director Grade Scientist and Head, Department of Biotechnology, CLRI, Chennai, he has taken up an Emeritus Scientist position in CLRI, Chennai. Dr. S.Sivasubramanian, after his postgraduation in Life Sciences from Bharathidasan University, Tiruchy, obtained his doctorate in microbial enzyme technology from the University of Madras. After serving M/s Orchid Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals Ltd., Chennai, for two years, he is at present a Research Scientist in King Institute of Preventive Medicine, Guindy. He has four Indian Patents and also a good number of peer-reviewed publications. Dr. T.Hemalatha got her specialization in biotechnology in her Master's Programme from the Tamilnadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore. Later, she carried out her doctoral work in the area of connective tissue biology and earned her Ph.D. from the University of Madras. She has papers published in journals with significant impact factor and she is, at present, a Senior Research Associate in the Department of Bioproducts, CLRI, Chennai.
