Overview

Along the busy Avenue Ejercito (Army), only steps from the bustling center of the city of Santiago, is found a six-story building that constitutes a true monument to the faithfulness and immutability of God in answering His promises. This building houses the headquarters for Chile's National Bible Institute, which functions completely by the faith of men and the faithfulness of our God. This book tells the story of how this building came to be what it is today and of the humble man whom God called from foreign lands to bring it about. At times tender, at times painful, at times impactful, this story traces the winding path that God prepared for Pablo Hoff. Starting with the uncertainties and insecurity of a timid young man growing up amid difficult times in the heartland of the United States of America, the story tells of his travels through the cold and rarefied airs of the Bolivian high plane, the humid heat of central Argentina, arriving finally at the wide valley located at the foothills of the Andes Mountains which is the site of the metropolis of Santiago, Chile. There we discover the inalterable dedication of a humble and venerable theologian and servant of God, seated at his desk in the second floor office of the building on Avenue Ejercito (Army). But there is something more important than the story of one man or one building. At every step of this journey we find real and tangible evidence of the unshakable faithfulness of God in fulfilling His great promise to all of the believers, written by another Paul more than two-thousand years earlier in Philippians 4:19: 'And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.'
