Author Information

Dr. Jamalludin Ab Rahman is a medical doctor and graduate of Universiti Kebangsaan, Malaysia. After graduating he served in the Ministry of Health Malaysia until 1999. He obtained his 4-year subspecialty Master of Public Health programme in 2003, specializing in Epidemiology and Biostatistics. His research on survival analysis of tuberculosis patients received the Aoyama Award for the best thesis. He joined International Islamic University of Malaysia in 1999 and is currently an Associate Professor of Public Health in the Department of Community Medicine, Faculty of Medicine. He has taught both undergraduates and postgraduates and has published and co-published more than 30 articles in peer-reviewed journals. He is one of the consultants in research methodology and statistical analysis national studies, including National Health and Morbidity Survey Malaysia in 2006 and 2011, National Oral Health Survey 2010, National Medical Care Statistics 2012, and The Malaysian Cohort since 2005. He was the resident consultant for Research Methodology and Biostatistics Clinic in Clinical Research Centre, Hospital Kuala Lumpur from 2008 to 2010. He is also active in the study of Obstructive Sleep Apnoea in both adults and children, and he has co-authored four articles on the subject.
