OverviewThis book presents different design strategies for Electromagnetic (EM) absorbers and polarization converters over microwave to millimeter-wave frequencies. Different topologies of EM absorbers and polarization converters have been discussed considering present state-of-the-art applications for defense and wireless communication. The book provides major design guidelines for the development of metamaterial inspired multi-band, broadband and reconfigurable absorbers and polarization converters. In the book, detailed performance analysis of absorbers and polarization converters are discussed, that includes triple band to undeca-bands absorbers, broadband absorber over the X-Ka bands, reconfigurable absorber with bandpass filtering, multiband reflective polarizers, broadband linear-cross and circular-circular polarizers and reconfigurable linear-circular and linear-cross polarization converter. It takes multiple iterations, extensive characterizations to conclude with different novel configurations of the structures. The book also discusses multiple design configurations of absorbers and polarization converters over the THz regime. The book concludes with future research activities of EM metamaterial structures with major focus on the reconfigurable intelligent surfaces for wireless communication.
