Overview

Merlin was in a fight with bullies in the schoolyard when he was unexpectedly aided by a new student, Tara. Tara practices Kung Fu because her Chinese uncle taught her so. From then on, Merlin also gets lessons from Tara's uncle and learns exercises like the Animal Game and Pushing Hands. Soon after, he can already defend himself against his bully neighbor, Leo. Merlin comes to know that Kung Fu is not only for self-defense, but also a way of living and thinking. The Chinese concept of Yin and Yang plays an important role in the Kung Fu discipline. Rudi Klijnstra, author and artist, is a practitioner of Jidokwan (Karate / Kung Fu / Tai Chi). He has visited Asia several times. During one of his trips to China, he wrote the manuscript for this book. Later on, he published the book entitled Merlin & Tara: an adventure with crop circles and UFOs.
