OverviewThis groupwork manual shows how to implement training for men who are violent to their female partners. It aims to help these men to learn a range of practical steps to change their behaviour and stop their violence. It argues that men use violence to obtain power or control in a relationship, but also addresses particular problems faced or encountered by men as individuals, and how their personal, emotional or status problems may result in them act violently and abusively. Training models are also presented for other groups of men who offend, including men presenting problems with stress, anger and abusive behaviour. The programme shown in this text is based on the groupwork programme for men convicted of violence against their partners, which was developed and run by the authors for seven years.
