Author Information

Abbe Flether is an Alton resident and senior lecturer in the Department of Film & Photography at Kingston School of Art, Kingston University. She is the course leader for the MA film-making and a filmmaker and researcher. She is also a ceramics researcher volunteer at the Allen Gallery and a Film Programmer for the Screen at the Allen Gallery pop-up Cinema there. She was inspired by hearing people share their memories of the Palace Cinema whilst campaigning to save the cinema in 2022 and set up the Memories of the Palace Cinema Alton Oral History Project to capture these memories and the love and appreciation for a cinema in Alton.
