Bruce D. Lundgren earned a bachelor's degree from Temple University and a master of public health degree in environmental health from the University of Oklahoma. He was employed as a public health official for fifteen years in New Jersey and eighteen years in Connecticut. He is currently seventy-eight years old, struggling with Parkinson's disease, and living with Kate, his wife of thirty-six years. They reside in Killingly, Connecticut.
