Meeting Mr. Biddledoo

Overview

What if you hated your name? Since the day he was made, bear longed for a name: a cool, brave, strong name. When his person finally came to claim him, she named him, ""Mr. Biddledoo."" Ugh! Though he loved Cathy, Mr. Biddledoo longed for a life of adventure AND a new name. When he meets three rough and tumble bears, he makes up a new name and joins them for the life he thinks he's always wanted. But, sometimes what we think we want, isn't what we thought at all. Will Mr. Biddledoo learn to like his name? Will he become the rough and tumble bear he always thought he should be? Or will he become who he was made to be?

Author Information

I wrote my first children's story when I was eight. Now, writing weaves through my life with my husband and six kids, a cat and our new dog. Fantasy and children's stories are always a favorite of mine to read and write. I learned the continuing value of picture books while working as an assistant teacher in a fifth grade classroom because kids of all ages still like to be read to, and I LOVE to read to them. This story began as an assignment for a children's writing course and thanks to the encouragement of Pam Marin-Kingsley, and the inspiring illustrations of Natalie Pshiblo, Mr. Biddledoo has blossomed. It's been a pleasure working with both of these wonderful ladies. I was born in the Russian city Bryansk and have been drawing since childhood. I have had many different creative hobbies all my life, but drawing has always remained in the first place. I graduated from the Orel State University with a degree in graphic design. During my studies I started taking orders for design and illustration. Over time, I moved away from graphic design and began to specialize only in raster illustration. Now I live in Kaliningrad, illustrating children's books and drawing for other projects. I also create warm magical illustrations of the fairy-tale world and share them on my Instagram.
