OverviewMEET THE PASTORS IN THEIR NEW CHURCHES: How can the Church Hierarchy help them Serve faithfully. This book describes the struggles that many of the local pastors, who are also known as novice or untrained pastors in Zimbabwe go through due to their being appointed to churches without any seminary training and resources. The book demonstrates how untrained pastors, if equipped and given proper support and resources, could be the key to solving the severe shortage of trained clergy that the church is experiencing. This has been made evident by how untrained pastors have helped to sustain the church in the absence of trained and ordained pastors. The writer of this book, who himself once served the church as a local pastor before getting his seminary training and ordination shares with the readers how the ministry of local pastors over the years has been significant in partnering with trained and experienced clergy as they work together in practicing ministry. It is the belief of this writer that if the church hierarchy wants to solve the shortage of trained pastors in the field, they should take serious steps to develop local or untrained pastors on the job. They should also make sure that they are provided with support and resources. However, it looks like the church hierarchy gives a blind eye to the work of untrained pastors to the point that some of them feel marginalized and unappreciated. Thus, in this book the writer tries hard to highlight some of the pain and frustrations that many of the faithful and hardworking untrained or local pastors go through because they feel that their work is not valued by their leaders.
