OverviewVia a questionnaire completed by healthcare professionals working at the Matmata Nouvelle district hospital and the Matmata ancienne intermediate center, and who worked during the COVID-19 pandemic, we found that most of the healthcare professionals we interviewed had no knowledge of the legislation relating to COV-2 SARS infection, and had encountered several problems when providing first-line care to patients suffering from COVID 19, particularly with regard to patient triage, access to care, medical confidentiality and disease declaration. Finally, the collective commitment and ongoing training of caregivers are essential pillars in meeting the ethical and medico-legal challenges, strengthening their ability to better manage future pandemics.
