She has over 15 years of teaching experience in Plant Taxonomy and Systematics, Applied Botany and Environmental Sciences. She received her Ph.D from University of the Punjab and postdoctoral research from Miami University, Ohio. She is currently doing research on heavy metal toxicity and ways to overcome problems associated with heavy metal pollution through ultramicroscopic techniques.
