Dr. Alan Thomson has been President of the Canadian Association of Gastroenterology, a member of the Bockus Society, two-term Governor for Western Canada for the American College of Gastroenterology, winner of the prestigious University Cup in 2001, a recipient of the Gold Medal in Medicine of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons (Canada), Chief Royal College examiner in Gastroenterology, Director of the Division of Gastroenterology, three-time Teacher of the Year at the University of Alberta, Award for Excellence in Mentoring Graduate Students and Postdoctoral Fellows, and awarded Distinguished University Professor. Dr. Thomson is a Distinguished Emeritus University Professor, University of Alberta, and is currently an Adjunct Professor at Western University. Dr. Bandar Al-Judaibi is an assistant professor at Western and King Saud Universities. He graduated from medical school at King Saud University in 2003 and completed his internal medicine, gastroenterology, clinical pharmacology and hepatology training at Western University. He completed a liver transplantation fellowship at the University of Alberta before he joined the Gastroenterology Division at London Health Sciences Centre in 2013. His research interest is on drug metabolism and liver transplantation. Dr. Al-judaibi has published in peer-reviewed journals such as Gastroenterology, American Journal of Gastroenterology, and Transplantation.
