OverviewThe fundamental discoveries presented in this book were first published in 2005 under the title Obesity, Gravity, Strength, and Balance and later in 2008 and 20012 as Modern Science of Biomechanics and Weight Gain and Loss. Various academic journals, peer-reviewed publications, and the 8th International Scientific Conference on Kinesiology have cited the editions. For the first time (January 2022), this book, the article Mechanism of Type 2 Diabetes Remission After Bariatric Surgery (Weight Loss Surgery) , reveals the mechanism of remission of Type 2 Diabetes after bariatric surgery (weight loss surgery). Also, this article explains the real cause of Type 2 diabetes in obese and nonobese individuals. Furthermore, it briefly describes the reason for Type 1 Diabetes, which mainly affect nonobese individuals. The first nine articles (pages 10 - 38) briefly explain the fallacies in mainstream theories about weight gain/ weight loss. The article Ancient and Modern Intervention for Controlling Body Shape and Size explains how ancient interventions effectively controlled the body weight and distribution of body mass. Modern weight-loss interventions never even attempted to control the distribution of body mass. The article The Explanation for why Astronauts and Cosmonauts Quickly Lose Body Mass in Space provides the first glimpse into how the Biological Basis of Body Mass Loss works (muscle, bone, and fat mass loss in space). In the article Involuntary Weight Loss caused by Long-Standing Illnesses, Certain Types of Injuries VERSUS Weight Loss after Weight Loss Surgery, the author explains the mechanism underlying weight loss after weight loss surgery - bariatric surgery. The article Post Exercise Weight Loss Explained explains why some exercises cause weight loss, some do not, and some cause further weight gain. Also, it explains the mechanism underlining post-exercise weight loss. The article about the Actors who gained or lost weight for a film role explains that the weight change comes from shifting posture and locomotion rather than increased/decreased food intake. The articles Occupational Obesity - Sumo Wrestlers and Occupational Obesity - Housewives, Nurses, and Manual Workers describe how adverse musculoskeletal changes lead to weight gain. The same articles explain why obesity is common among medical nurses but not among medical doctors. The article about Wild Bears' autumn weight gain and winter weight loss explains that the way bears consume food is not what causes pre-winter weight gain. Bears in captivity do not gain weight before winter, and it is only in the wilderness that bears gain weight before winter. The article Modern Sitting Furniture and Obesity Epidemic explains the changes in sitting furniture over the last 70 years and its impact on the musculoskeletal system and obesity prevalence. The article Factors that Determine Weight Gain and Weight Loss explains the different types of mechanical stimulation. It explains the differences between mechanical stimulation and how they occur. It presents the Mechanical Stimulation = Low-Grade Inflammation = Weight Gain model of weight gain and weight loss. The article Underlying Mechanism of Excess Skin/Saggy Fat Depots (Lipodystrophy and Lipedema) after Weight Loss Surgery explains the cause for the appearance of excess skin (Lipodystrophy and Lipedema) after weight loss surgery (bariatric surgery). This book contains 14 instructional images, which, together with the rest of the book content, explain the biological basis of weight gain and weight loss and the factors that determine body mass distribution.
