Overview

The 19 papers in this volume were presented at the symposium of the same title held at Materials Week '94 in Rosemont, Illinois, USA held on October 2-6, 1994. A recent understanding of the roles of phase transformations and microstructures in multi-phase intermetallic alloys in improving mechanical properties is presented. Both experimental and theoretical aspects that highlight, develop and utilize approaches to understand and improve strength, ductility and toughness responses are discussed.
