The latest in a series of efforts to estimate the price that nations pay for their protective trade barriers, the book lays out some of the key import policies of this newly industrialized Asian power. As Korean participation in the international economy expands and membership in the OECD takes place, Korea will need to resolve several commercial tensions with its trading partners. Author Information

Namdoo Kim is currently Professor of International Economics at Inje University in Kimhae, South Korea. He was a Research Fellow and Director of Research Coordination at the Korean Institute for International Economic Policy (KIEP) in Seoul between 1989 and 1995. He has been a member of the Korean Tariff Deliberation Commission since 1988. Kim has authored and co-authored a number of books and articles including Trade Barriers in the United States (1992), Direct Investment Flows between the United States and Korea (1991), and Long-Term Trends in U.S. Trade Policies (1990), all published by KIEP in Korean.
