Overview

The MX-5/Miata Mk3 was released in 2005. A radical departure from the cars that had gone before, it shared much with the Mazda RX-8. This model offered a new suspension and chassis design, coupled with new engines, gearboxes, brakes and electrical packages; the interior and even the folding soft top had changed design, and, for the first time, a folding hardtop was available. This book will walk you through the models, mechanical components, trim and features, as well as maintenance, care and how to get the most from your car. It features detailed descriptions and photographs showing points of note, helpful hints and tips, and gives you the benefit of the author's years of MX-5/Miata experience. Your marque expert for this guide has been involved with Mazda MX-5s/Miatas for many years and has owned more cars than he cares to remember: as the current owner of a Mk3, he genuinely practices what he preaches.

Author Information

Oliver Wild grew up in an engineering family in rural Yorkshire, spending evenings in the garage with his father restoring a range of classic cars from MGs to Porsches. Weekends were often spent on windy airfields competing in motorsport events, or mending cars from the previous weekend. Following a successful career in the motor trade, Oliver has over 20 years of restoration experience across a range of marques, being in 'the game' for the love of it rather than big financial rewards. He gains great pleasure from rescuing beautiful cars and introducing new people to the hobby. Oliver owns an eclectic range of cars and other vintage machinery, ranging from pushbikes to Suffolk Punch lawnmowers! But the Mazda MX-5 has become a staple in his garage, with usually at least one each owned by Oliver and his wife, Sarah.
