Steve Bennett, also known as Sport or Maxx, is a Baltimore-based poet, author, and inspirational speaker. Born prematurely and raised in West Baltimore's Edmondson Village, Steven overcame early struggles with poverty, loss, and adversity. A former ""corner boy"" and juvenile detention survivor, he has transformed his challenges into a mission of resilience and empowerment. Now a proud father and community advocate, Steven works within Baltimore City Public Schools, inspiring youth to rise above hardship. His debut book, Maxxmatics Vol. 1: I Am the Universe, combines poetry and life lessons to motivate others to turn their pain into power.
