Max Goes to Sea

Overview

In Max Goes to Sea, book two in The Adventures of Maxwell Marks, the Rescue Dog series, Max and Noel climb aboard their trusty big blue boat, Dauntless, captained by Captain Patrick. From the very first day, Max discovers a whole new world-salty air filled with exciting smells, endless blue horizons, and curious new friends along the way. As Dauntless travels the waters from Florida to Maine, Max meets the animals of the sea-from playful dolphins dancing in the waves to watchful seagulls soaring overhead and pelicans gliding just above the water's surface. Each stop brings something new to explore, from quiet harbors and bustling ports to the beautiful land that meets the sea and everything in between. With Captain Patrick at the helm and adventure around every corner, Max and Noel learn that the greatest journeys aren't just about where you go-but the friends you make and the wonders you discover along the way.

Author Information

Author Nicole Marks has always had an undeniable love for animals from her earliest years. When most kids were making friendships, Nicole was rescuing something that needed saving or making friends with some member of the animal kingdom, much to her family's dissatisfaction. From the frostbitten field mouse (that may have escaped the shoe box INSIDE the house), to the rehabbed chicken that took up residence in the bathtub, or the lame duck with the broken leg that needed a cast, surely there was a connection between Nicole and the animals. As a professional, Nicole relocated to New England, where she had the greatest gift of teaching therapeutic riding for special needs children and adults. When they are not at their winter home in Hobe Sound, Florida, or visiting their horses in the Virginia countryside, Nicole and her husband enjoy summers traveling by boat up the eastern seaboard, stopping at all the tiny towns from Maryland to Nantucket to Maine. It is Nicole's great pleasure to be able to give a portion of the proceeds from this book to Friends of thew Animals Shelter (FOTAS), the shelter that blessed her family with Maxwell Marks.
