OverviewThe status of studies on the structure and properties of compact stars is reviewed in this text. The numerical solution of the general relativistic field equations is described, for non-rotating and for rapidly rotating stars, and in particular for neutron stars. One of the main areas of these studies is the evaluation of the equation of state for baryonic matter at high densities. These properties are determined by solving the nuclear many-body problem via realistic models of the nuclear-nuclear interaction. The importance of the relativistic effect and sub-nucleonic degrees in solving this many-body problem are discussed. Full Product DetailsAuthor: Harald Riffert , etc. , H. Muther , H.
