Author Information
Thomas Westermann studierte an der Universitat Konstanz Mathematik und Physik mit Diplomabschluss 1985 in Mathematik. Er promovierte 1988 im Bereich der Computerphysik und war anschliessend wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter am Forschungszentrum Karlsruhe mit den Arbeitsschwerpunkten Modellierung und Simulation. Seit 1993 ist er Professor fur Angewandte Mathematik und Computersimulation an der HS Karlsruhe. Fur sein didaktisches Konzept wurde der Autor mit dem Preis der G.A. Muller-Stiftung zur Forderung der Qualitat der Lehre ausgezeichnet. 2008 wurde ihm der Lehrpreis des Landes Baden-Wurttemberg auch fur seine didaktisch hervorragenden Lehrbucher verliehen. ""
