Ruth A. Wittmann-Price, PhD, CNS, RN, CNE, is chairperson and professor at Francis Marion University Department of Nursing, South Carolina. She has been an obstetrical/women's health nurse for 34 years. Dr. Wittmann-Price has developed and research-tested a mid-range nursing theory """"Emancipated Decision-Making in Women's Health Care."""" In addition to continuing her research about decisional science, she studies developmental outcomes of preterm infants. As Director of Nursing Research (2007-2010) for Hahnemann University Hospital, Philadelphia Dr. Wittmann-Price was responsible for all evidence-based practice projects for nursing. She has taught all levels of nursing students over the past 15 years and completed an international service-learning trip (2007) to rural Mexico with undergraduate nursing and physician assistant students. She was the coordinator for the Nurse Educator track in DrNP program at Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA (2007-2010) and assists Drexel as a member of dissertation committees. She is co-editor and chapter contributor of three books, Nursing Education: Foundations for Practice Excellence (2007) (AJN Book of the Year Award winner), The Certified Nurse Examination (CNE) Review Manual (2009), and NCLEX-RN EXCEL Test Success through Unfolding Case Study Review (2010). She has also published Fast facts for Developing a Nursing Academic Portfolio (2012), and Maternal-Child Nursing Test Success: An Unfolding Case Study Review (with Francis H. Cornelius) (2011). Her chapter """"The role of the educator,"""" in Role Development for Doctoral Advanced Nursing Practice (Dreher, M. & Glasgow, M. E. S., Eds.) contributed to the book winning the AJN Book of the Year Award, 2011. Dr. Wittmann-Price has also published numerous articles and presents nationally on nursing educational topics as well as offering a CNE review course with Dr. Linda Wilson. ||Fran Cornelius, PhD, RN, CNE, CIN, is Associate Clinical Professor and Coordinator of Informatics at Drexel University.
