Overview

Pro Tools is the industry standard tool for audio production, and Pro Tools effects have a reputation for being extremely professional and high quality; in fact, the effects are one of the features that draw new users to the software. There are many books available on Pro Tools, but until now, none that deal specifically with the effects processors and plug-ins and how to use them effectively. MASTERING PRO TOOLS EFFECTS: GETTING THE MOST OUT OF PRO TOOLS' EFFECTS PROCESSORS offers master-level lessons, tips, and advice on using the most essential built-in plug-ins that come with Pro Tools. This book offers detailed descriptions about what each effect is and does, how to operate each effect, and when to use the effects, with tutorials on how to get the most out of the effects in audio productions. Whether you're a musician, composer, audio student, new Pro Tools convert, or anyone else involved in audio production, this book is for you.

Author Information

Jeremy Krug, engineer and producer, has more than 15 years of experience in location and studio recording. He studied Music Performance as an undergraduate student at The Harid Conservatory in Boca Raton, FL, and at the University of Colorado at Boulder, where he also studied composition, electronic music, film, and radio production. Later, Jeremy studied Audio Engineering at the University of Colorado at Denver, served as sound designer for several productions with the National Theatre Conservatory, and started his own location recording business serving schools, community ensembles, and individual artists in Colorado, Washington, and Idaho. In 2002 Jeremy joined the staff of Washington State University to serve as the Audio Engineer for the School of Music. He began his work there by designing, purchasing, and installing the electronics package to complete the 1.5-million-dollar WSU Recording Studio. He then ran the studio and produced nearly 1,000 recording projects spanning every genre of music and including work for film and television and live theatre. Jeremy also introduced and began teaching recording courses for the School of Music in 2006 while serving as the staff advisor for both the WSU chapter of MEISA and the WSU Electronic Music Association. In 2011, Jeremy took on a new position with Solid State Logic touring the United States with their latest broadcast mixing consoles.
