OverviewMastering New Testament Greek enables beginning students to learn the basic principles of Koine Greek and helps them understand the language and thought of the Greek New Testament. Both the inductive and deductive approaches to language study are utilized. From the beginning, the student is instructed in the principles of grammar, which are combined with vocabularies, analytical charts, and paradigms. The student also begins translating at once. The author has included for this purpose a simplified version of the text of John 1-5. The reading lessons are synchronized with the grammar lessons to allow students near the end of the course to translate the text of John 6. Along with the Greek-reader text are notes that allow the student to translate more easily and accurately without looking up every word in the vocabulary list. Lesson plans for intermediate Greek students lead into translating more of the Book of John. Plans for advanced Greek students include extensive translation in Luke's Gospel.
