Building on the foundation of AutoCAD skills provided in Cheng's Mastering AutoCAD R13 , this companion book teaches students and professional users of Mechanical Desktop how to create 3D wireframe and NURBS (Non-Uniform Rational B-Spline) surface models. The book is an update of Cheng's Surface Modeling Using AutoSurf Release 2 (PWS, 1997), with AutoSurf commands and procedures updated to Version 3. The book includes a brief introduction to AutoSurf, followwed by a hands-on project in which readers create 3D wireframes and surfaces for a video camera model. A second project - modelling a mobile phone - allows readers to practice advanced techniques. The book concludes with an explanation of all AutoSurf 3-related commands used in the text.
