Reviews

"""This compact reference is sure to become a standard in the libraries of researchers profiling metabolites. Although mass spectrometry-based metabolomics studies can be challenging to researchers who do not specialize in the field, this book makes the technology accessible to researchers in a variety of fields. The book includes helpful tips and tricks for three different disciplines- biology, analytic chemistry and informatics- and six different sample types-urine, serum, blood, tissue, food and plant/animal cells. Included is information on every step of the process from experimental design through sample preparation and analytical procedures to data analysis."" – Ringgold, Inc. Book News, February 2015 ‘""Mass Spectrometry-Based Metabolomics, A Practical Guide,"" edited by Sastia Prama Putri and Eiichiro Fukusaki, provides an excellent resource for biologists, clinicians, and beginning analytical chemists who wish to enter into this field. The book provides detailed information on each step of the metabolomic workflow, including study design, sample extraction, and instrumentation available for metabolite profiling with the goal of helping those new to the field to navigate the complexities of designing and analyzing a metabolomic experiment… the book provides an excellent primer to researchers entering into the field of metabolomics.’ – Leah P. Shriver for J. Am. Soc. Mass. Spectrom. (2016) 27:1-2. DOI 10.1007/s13361-015-1246-3"
